100 knot Tibetan Carpet
This was my favorite product that I ever had a hand in creating. Gorgeous when it finally arrived from overseas. Some lucky woman got to have a $65,000 bedroom carpet. She had three private sessions with me, the designer and colorist.
Today I will start a-NOTHER new challenge, but this time all new and mostly traditional media. Multi-media! Play time stuff. Therefore I have to schedule a bunch more of my remaining in this “show casing of skillset” group. I need to get it out of the way because I’m going to get busier.
Tomorrow I start my 6-week “drawing a day” challenge, so I’ll have two daily postings going on for awhile. It doesn’t seem like it should be that much but it sort of it, lol.
I rarely do this type of thing but…
I’d downloaded a picture of the two, ridiculous candidates & took note of their opposite, gender specific facial expressions. She’s a woman so smiles, all friendly. He’s over-frowning with his trademark exaggeration.
I wondered what they’d look like if I crudely swapped their mouths and here they are! I think I improved things. They both seem much friendlier! Hillary with Drumpf’s scowl looks like she’s about to crack up at a really good joke, and he looks like your best, merry, lesbian aunt.
Drew a new, geometric pattern tile, merchandised it out in three color ways in a pillow silhouette, sitting atop a mocked-up table.
Just for fun. It’s important for artists & designers to play. I could see this as a Tibetan carpet or as tapestry.
I’m big into blues & dark colors at the moment. This is a leaf I plucked off a shrub in the front yard.
This somber palette matches my mood. It’s hard to keep posting when things are not going well.
